Crystal Kirgiss
Crystal Kirgiss (PhD, Purdue University) is the Director of Discipleship Content and Partnerships for Young Life, an award winning writer, teacher, and national speaker whose interests range widely. She has written 10 books on topics from jazz to prayer to Old Testament prophets to the history of adolescence. At conferences, conventions, chapels, camps, and retreats, she often teaches about how her favorite subjects intersect in unique ways: C. S. Lewis and youth ministry; medieval history and modern adolescence; Biblical interpretation and book making. She writes two monthly columns for YouthWalk and has written for Today's Christian Woman, Campus Life, Youthworker Journal, Christian Parenting, InSite, and Prose Studies. She has been a core writer for several Bible editions, including The Way (Tyndale). She lives in Indiana with her husband, a veteran youth worker. In her spare time she reads junior fiction, C. S.
